Learn About Our Classes
This program is offered on Friday mornings and allows children to experience school with a close family member nearby. In this class children enjoy story time, circle time, art activities, playground time, music class and free play experiences all the while having that familiar person with them at all times. This class has one teacher and will take up to 10 students with one parent or caretaker per student.
This program centers on exploration and investigation. Activities provide sensory experiences in seeing, touching, tasting, smelling, hearing and caring. A great deal of time and energy is devoted to the issue of separation and the development of new relationships. The class meets two days a week for 2 hours.
While all of our classes focus on learning through exploration and discovery, the 3’s program challenges the children to wonder about the how and the why of things. We use children’s natural curiosity to support learning. The 3's classes are scheduled both two and three times a week for 2 1/2 hours.
As with the 3’s classes we challenge our 4 year old students to wonder and to explore, to question why and move ahead to answer these questions on their own through exploration and discovery. We challenge them to use what they already know to expand their knowledge and to explore the details further. We apply this style of learning to all areas as we explore the areas of Math, Science, Writing and Pre-Reading skills. The choices for our 4's program are three or four sessions per week for 2 1/2 hours.
This is a very special class for the older child. Due to the age of these children they are ready and excited to push further and ask, and discover the answers to some amazing questions. In this class children learn through discovery, exploration, journaling and Weekly Readers. Teachers focus on their work in the areas of Science, Math, Writing, and Pre-Reading skills. Project work is also a big part of this program. The Pre-K class meets four afternoons a week for 2 1/2 hours.
We encourage the building of each child's "sense of self" with an emphasis on language, science and creative art expression. This program is fun and flexible and encourages learning through play. This class meets two afternoons for 2 1/2 hours with an emphasis on language, art and science.
This program is an extracurricular program for children in the Three’s, Four’s, and Pre-K classes, where children may either stay for the whole day or just for lunch. Parents can sign up for only the days they need, on a monthly or even day to day basis. This program explores many topics through science, art, language, sensory experiences, and gross motor activities. Eat=Play=Learn meets Monday through Thursday from 11:30-2:00, with the lunch portion from 11:30-12:45.
Each preschool class attends music at least once per week. Our music teacher gives students the opportunity to sing, dance, play instruments, and have fun. The children are provided with developmentally appropriate music and music activities to further develop a sense of self.
